A LOOK BACK AT 2009:
JOIN THE LESBIAN AND GAY FELLOWSHIP for our next meeting on Sunday, March 7 at 12:30 pm in Room 33.
Dr. Nathaniel Frank, noted author and educator, will discuss "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and its possible repeal. Dr. Frank is the author of Unfriendly Fire: How the Gay Ban Undermines the Military and Weakens America, published in 2009 by St. Martin's Press and described by Janet Maslin writing in The New York Times as “a sharp, vigorously framed analysis.”  She adds, “The main attraction in ‘Unfriendly Fire’ is the agility and tough-mindedness with which Mr. Frank presents his arguments.”

Dr. Frank is Senior Research Fellow at the Palm Center, a think tank at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an adjunct professor at New York University. He received his Ph.D. in History from Brown University in the spring of 2002. He is recognized as one of the nation's top experts on gays in the military and other gay rights topics, and his publications have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Republic, Slate, Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, Newsday, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Lingua Franca, and others. He has been interviewed for national television and radio programs, including ABC's Good Morning America, the CBS Evening News, CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, CBS News on Logo, the BBC, and MSNBC's Abrams Report.

His interview by Jon Stewart on the Daily Show is available at http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-march-9-2009/nathaniel-frank.
