Every Thursday, from 02/06/2020 to 02/20/2020, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Stand Your Ground: Black Bodies and the Justice of God. Thursdays, February 6–20, 6:30 pm in the Vestry Room. In the past few years, the killing of innocent black and brown people, accompanied by a marked rise in white nationalism, has prompted a fierce reckoning about race in America. Join the Reverend Peter Thompson for a discussion of Kelly Brown Douglas’ searing book Stand Your Ground: Black Bodies and the Justice of God. What is the reality of being black or brown in this country? And how can we draw on our Christian faith in our effort to make our society more loving and more just? Attendees are encouraged (but not required) to read the book in advance of the discussion.
