The themes of Our Town seem like the perfect tonic for these times, and we are thrilled to share it again and capture the magic of 7 years ago with a reading featuring nearly the entire cast from our 2014 production.
Thornton Wilder’s 1938 Pulitzer Prize-winning play about small-town America in the early 1900s, depicted in the fictionalized town of Grover's Corner, is one of the most renowned and frequently performed plays of all time. Its stunning and simple message speaks to not only our nature, but also to the universal human condition: hope, fear, desire and the search for meaning. Our Town celebrates the truth in our moment-to-moment existence on this planet and is a spiritual reminder of what is important in our lives; it is, in Wilder’s words, "an attempt to find a value above all price for the smallest events in our daily life."
