SUMMER AT ST. BART'S
June 8- August 14, 2020

Early registration discount of 10% through 2/15

Summer at St. Bart's offers something for everyone ages 2 to 10. Swim is offered every day for ages 3 to 10 in our full-sized on-site pool (salt-water filtration) with certified lifeguards and swim instructors from Imagine Swim. Come for one week or for all!

If you are interested in a tour of our facility, call 212-378-0203 and/or email . We are available for tours Mondays 2 - 4 pm, Tuesdays 2 pm - 3 pm, Wednesdays 2 - 4pm, Thursdays 1 - 4 pm, and Fridays 2 - 3 pm.

Starting at age three, each child participates in daily instructional swim. Imagine Swim teachers guide children in age-appropriate, ability-based lessons, overseen by a lifeguard and Aquatic Director. Younger children utilize the “tot dock” at the shallow end of the pool, while the older children enjoy jumping in the deep end and practicing their advanced strokes. The ratio is always 4 swimmers to 1 instructor.

Our newly renovated 26,000 sq. ft gym is the home base for many athletic activities at camp. Every Friday, children of all ages enjoy the bounce castle. On other days of the week, the gym hosts organized games, relay races, and sports with our athletic coach.

Every child will have a daily dance and movement class. These sessions give children a chance to stretch their bodies and teaches them how to use their bodies to express their feelings and engage with peers safely.

Our rooftop playground is designed to appeal to children young and old. There are two separate play structures for climbing and plenty of space for running around, in addition to riding bikes and cars.  Even during the summer heat, our rooftop stays shaded!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the camp staff?

Our counselors are teachers and college students from all over the city. Many of our counselors are teachers at St. Bartholomew Community Preschool. Head counselors are experienced teachers with degrees in education. Assistant counselors are college students pursuing a degree in education.

What is the ratio of campers to staff?

For our youngest counselors, we maintain a 4:1 ratio of campers to staff. In the Adventure Camp and Funky Flamingos groups, the ratio is 6:1. During swimming, the ratio is always 4:1, in addition to a lifeguard and aquatics director on site.

What do campers learn during their swim lessons?

During 30-minute sessions with swim instructors from Imagine Swimming, students become more comfortable and confident in the water. They practice different strokes, kicks, and floating. Younger campers utilize a tot dock at the shallow end of the pool, so their heads are always above water.

Do I have to register for a minimum number of weeks?

There is no minimum! You can register for as few or many weeks as you'd like.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

Yes, we offer 10% discount for siblings.

Is camp only for St. Bart's church members?

No- we welcome families from many different schools in New York and beyond!

On your child's first day of camp, they should pack water shoes, goggles, a towel, sunscreen, and an extra set of clothes (including swimsuit) to leave in the cubby for the duration of camp.

Daily, students should arrive wearing their bathing suit underneath their clothes, and in comfortable shoes for active outdoor play.

Do you offer make-up days for illness or travel?

Can camp accommodate my child's nut allergy?

Yes, we are a nut-free environment. We ask families to refrain from sending lunches that include nuts or nut products. All counselors are trained in the use of Epi-Pens in case of emergency.
