    St Bart’s Central Volunteer
    • Purpose: Provide coverage at St. Bart’s Central and the bookstor

    • Potential opportunities:
      • Answer and direct phone calls at the front desk
      • Facilitate purchases at the church’s bookstore
      • Share your knowledge of St. Bart’s and NYC with tourists and locals alike
    Welcome Team
    • Purpose: Live out St. Benedict’s command that “All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ” by making all visitors feel at home at St. Bart’s.
    • Perfect for: Those who like to talk to strangers! In all seriousness, if you’re an outgoing person who likes to meet new people, then you should consider joining the Welcome Team.
    • Potential opportunities:
      • Provide a warm and welcoming presence at the church entrance and welcome table
      • Greet visitors, hand out welcome bags, and assist folks in filling out Connect Cards before and after worship services
      • Provide support at new member events and retreats
      • Make name badges for newcomers
      • Help newcomers navigate the building and assist with accessibility needs
    Philip Team
    • Purpose: Serve as mentors to newcomers at St. Bart’s. While welcome team members provide hospitality to all visitors at services and church events, Philip Team members are paired with individual newcomers in an effort to foster deeper connections. Fun fact: This welcome initiative is called the “Philip Team” since Philip introduced St. Bartholomew to Jesus!
    • Perfect for: Those who want to shepherd newcomers into our beloved community through sustained and personalized connection.
    • Potential opportunities:
      • Meeting new members for coffee and conversation
      • Writing welcome notes to newcomers
      • Accompanying newcomers to worship and church events
    Docents
    • Purpose: Docents lead public and private tours of St. Bart’s, which was registered as a National Historic Landmark in 2016.
    • Perfect for: Those with a knack for art, architecture, or community engagement.
    • Potential opportunities:
      • Train with a current docent
      • Lead 30-45 minute tours of our church, chapel, and narthex
        Digital Ministry Volunteer
        • Purpose: Help online worshippers feel welcome and connected to our community
        • Perfect for:  Anyone who joins us for worship online on a regular basis.
