Overview

As the St. Bart's community extends beyond the boundaries of the five boroughs, we want to provide a space for virtual and in-person visitors alike to connect, worship, and belong. This April, you're invited to join us for a two day Pilgrims and Pathfinders Retreat.  During the retreat, we will also be celebrating parishioners who are taking the next step in Christian community through baptism, confirmation, or reception on April 16. While we especially hope that our virtual worshippers and Pathfinders attendees will participate, the retreat is open to all as a celebration of our growing community. Together, we'll break bread, gather for discussion panels, and worship with guest musician Rev. John Tirro of St. John's Lutheran Church in Knoxville, TN. Other retreat opportunities include:

  • A concert featuring the Choir of Pembroke College, Cambridge.
  • A guided tour of the church, which was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2016.
  • A festive meet and greet with cheese, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • A tour of Crossroads Community Services.

Featured Guest Musician

During the retreat, we will be joined by the Reverend John Tirro. Rev. Tirro is Pastor of Worship at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. John had a first career writing chart-topping songs in Nashville, including songs by popular artists such as Brian White, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, and others. Rev. Tirro is now a sought-after retreat leader, offering workshops in new hymns, leading worship at regional gatherings, and writing fresh and inspiring songs for the church.

Is financial assistance available?

Who is invited to attend?

The short answer is everyone!

The long answer is that we wanted to give virtual worshippers the opportunity to experience St. Bart's in-person and to meet some of the folks they see each week on our livestream and in online classes. Additionally, the retreat provides us with the opportunity to celebrate those who will soon be confirmed, received, or reaffirmed at St. Bart's. (This includes both in-person and virtual participants in our Pathfinders Course.) Finally, we hope that in-person worshippers both new and old will attend and extend a warm welcome to the Pathfinders and Pilgrims. So no matter who you are, feel free to register and invite a friend to do the same! We're looking forward to seeing you.
