Film professor and St. Bart's parishioner Anthony Perrotto hosts a bimonthly film series with an introduction, important insights, and commentary for each screening, all with LGBTQ+ themes.

September 13BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, 2013. Emmy to Michael Douglas, co-starring Matt Damon. 45 wins and nominations. American biographical, comedy dramatic film.  It dramatizes the last ten years in the life of pianist, Liberace. HBO was the first studio to having the guts to produce a mainstream Gay film. Liberace was 50 years ahead of the times and was never open about his homosexuality.

September 27: DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, 2013. BEST PICTURE, 87 nominations total; Matthew McConaughey (Oscar winner), Jennifer Garner, Jared Leto (Oscar winner). In 1985 Dallas, electrician and Ron Woodroof works around the system to help AIDS patients get the medication they need after he is diagnosed with the disease.  He helped pave the way for development of new treatments. The movie deals with several themes - terminal illness, government regulations, homosexuality, promiscuity,

October 4: SUPER NOVA, 2021. STANLEY TUCCI, COLIN FIRTH. Sam and Tusker are a long-term couple, based in England. They've rented a small RV and take a road trip. The story primarily concerns Tusker, who is suffering from dementia. Deeply in love, they're grappling with the grim turn of reality their lives have taken.These two actors are prodigiously gifted, in their eyes, expressions, and postures. It's a devastatingly moving, poignant film. 

November 1THE CAKEMAKER  18 WINS 15 NOMINATIONS-2017. A very tender and touching story. Thomas, a young German baker, is having an affair with Oren, an Israeli married man who has frequent visits in Berlin. When Oren dies in a car crash in Israel, Thomas travels to Jerusalem seeking answers regarding his death. Under a fabricated identity, Thomas infiltrates into the life of Anat, his lover's newly widowed wife, who owns a small café in downtown Jerusalem. Thomas starts to work for her and create German cakes and cookies that bring life into her café.

November 15 KINKY BOOTS, (The Original), Kinky Boots -2005 British comedy-drama (with songs), Stars, JOEL EDGERTON .The story is a similar plot to the Broadway Show. Nominated BEST FILM AT THE 64TH GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS, it is based on a true story. It’s the of a struggling shoe factory owner Charlie, who forms an unlikely partnership with Lola, a drag queen. Charlie’s plan is to design custom footwear for drag queens, rather than the men's dress shoes. Through good character development, the film introduces the Northampton workers who will lose their livelihood if the factory closes.
