Janina Sajka, Pianist
November 3, 2024 3:00pm
Sunday, November 3, at 3 pm, in the Chapel. Suggested donation $20.
Janina Sajka’s musical gifts were appreciated at a very early age among the church communities in the post World War II refugee camp were she was born to Belarusian emigre parents. She commenced formal piano study after her family resettled in Minneapolis, MN; and she received her B.A. in Music from Macalester College, St. Paul, MN. She continued studies in electronic music and computers at San Francisco State University.
Music has always been part of her life. She has taught; she has played in supper clubs; and she has served as keyboardist with several church music ensembles in San Francisco and Washington DC. Most recently she was Music Director for Holy Redeemer MCC Church in College Part, MD. Janina came to St. Bart’s during Covid lockdown and became a member of the parish in 2022. In today's St. Bart’s 2025 Stewardship Campaign event program she shares with us her life-long love affair with the music of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert.
