Opera is an art form uniquely suited to explore human nature and spirituality. Join two fellow St. Bart’s parishioners and passionate opera enthusiasts, Dr. James Ferrara and William Fulton, to examine the spiritual and moral dimensions of productions in performance this season at New York’s Metropolitan Opera. Jamie and William will offer video highlights and encourage a lively discussion of insights into religion, morality, and human relationships from two operas. No previous experience or knowledge is required. On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, we'll explore Don Carlos by Verdi, and on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, we'll examine Elektra by Strauss and Akhnaten by Glass. The class is designed for both dedicated opera fans and newcomers who are ‘opera-curious’ and would like to know more about this powerful art form!
