Summer Camp at St. Bart's

Running from June 5 to August 11, 2023

Come join the fun this summer! Summer at St. Bart’s offers something for everyone ages two through six! Every day campers ages three to six learn how to swim onsite in our indoor heated pool! All of our campers ages two through six, participate in a variety of activities which include sports in the full-sized gymnasium, outdoor play on the rooftop, arts and crafts, dance and movement, and free play in the classroom! Weekly specials include yoga, science experiments, and drama classes!

Two New Camps, One Place to Be this Summer!  We are excited to share two new afternoon camp sessions in July and August: Creative Arts Camp and Find Your Voice Camp.  In addition, we have an ongoing premiere day camp for 2-6 year olds all summer long!

Camp Sessions and Themed Weeks

You may register for as many, and whichever sessions you would like. Each session must be from the selection below. Each session consists of two consecutive weeks and may not be mixed with other sessions.

Session 1 “Down on the Farm”: June 5 – June 16
Session 2 “Exploring Space”: June 20 – June 30
Session 3 “Dinosaur Extravaganza”: July 5 – July 14
Session 4 “Discovering the Ocean”: July 17 – July 28

Summer Camp Photos

Programs and Activities

Pool

Campers ages three to six swim daily on-site in our heated indoor swimming pool. Campers learn basic swim techniques and enhance their abilities to swim independently. Throughout the years our campers who attend camp for multiple sessions become excellent swimmers!

Athletics

Our newly renovated 26,000 sq. ft gym is the home base for many athletic activities at camp. Every Friday, children of all ages enjoy the bounce castle. On other days of the week, the gym hosts organized games, relay races, and sports with our athletic coach.

Dance and Movement

Every child will have a daily dance and movement class. These sessions give children a chance to stretch their bodies and teaches them how to use their bodies to express their feelings and engage with peers safely.

Outdoor Play

Our rooftop playground is designed to appeal to children young and old. There are two separate play structures for climbing and plenty of space for running around, in addition to riding bikes and cars. Even during the summer heat, our rooftop stays shaded!

Ages and Cost

Little Lambs

2 years old   • 9 am - 12 pm   • $1550 per session
The Little Lambs are a separation program for two-year-olds. This program incorporates all the best parts of camp: art, playtime on the rooftop, singing, and dancing, structured and unstructured indoor play, and sports games in the gym.

Cheeky Chicks 

3 years old  • 9 am - 12:30 pm   • $1750 per session
The Cheeky Chicks is a half-day program for potty-trained three-year-olds. Campers swim every day on-site in our heated indoor pool. In addition, campers enjoy a full roster of special activities, including soccer, yoga, sports in the gym, outdoor play on the rooftop, dance and movement, art, and music. Campers dismiss before lunch; however, we do provide a small snack and water.

Gaga Guppies

4  years old  • Monday - Thursday 9 am - 2:30 pm/Friday 9 am - 12:30 pm   • $1950 per session
The Gaga Guppies is a full-day program for four-year-olds. Campers swim every day on-site in our heated indoor pool. In addition, campers participate daily, in a variety of sports in the gym, art, outdoor play on the rooftop, dance, and movement, and indoor unstructured “choice” play in the classroom. Weekly specials include music, soccer, science experiments, yoga, and drama classes! Campers have a small snack we provide; however, this group is required to bring a nut-free lunch!

Funky Flamingos

5 and 6  years old  • Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 2:30 pm/Friday 9:00 am - 12:30 pm   • $2050 per session
The Funky Flamingos is a full-day program for five and six-year-olds. Campers swim every day on-site in our heated indoor pool. Campers participate in a variety of sports in the gym, outdoor play on the rooftop, art, dance, and movement, and indoor unstructured “choice” play in the classroom. Weekly specials include music, soccer, science experiments, yoga, and drama classes! Campers have a small snack we provide; however, this group is required to bring a nut-free lunch!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the camp staff?

Our counselors are teachers and college students from all over the city. Many of our counselors are teachers at St. Bartholomew Community Preschool. Head counselors are experienced teachers with degrees in education. Assistant counselors are college students pursuing a degree in education. 

What is the ratio of campers to staff?

For our youngest campers, the Little Lambs, we maintain a 4:1 ratio of campers to staff. In all remaining groups ages 3-6, our ratio is 6:1 campers to staff.

Do I have to register for a minimum number of sessions?

There is no minimum! You can register for as few or as many sessions as you'd like.

Can I mix sessions that work better with my summer schedule?

No, each session must be for the allocated weeks. It cannot be mixed with any other session.

Yes, we offer 10% discount for siblings. 

No—we welcome families from many different schools in New York and beyond!

On your child's first day of camp, they should bring a backpack with an extra change of clothes to leave in their cubby for the duration of camp. All items in the backpack should be labeled. Each child should wear comfortable shoes for active indoor and outdoor play. Campers ages 3-6 should pack a swimsuit, water shoes, and a towel daily. All swimming campers should pack an extra labeled swimsuit to leave in the cubby for the duration of camp. We will be providing water bottles for all campers, to keep them hydrated all day.

Yes, we are a nut-free environment. We ask families to refrain from sending lunches that include nuts or nut products. All counselors are trained in the use of Epi-Pens in case of emergency.

No, families must provide a nut-free lunch daily for full-day campers.

Each group is capped at 18. The Little Lambs (2-year-olds) is limited to 10 children.

We encourage families to register as soon as their summer plans are finalized.  Early Bird Registration Discount of 10% is offered until March 15, 2022.

Yes, all campers and counselors are required to be fully immunized per Department of Health regulations. 

Yes, we are requiring all campers to provide a negative COVID-19 Test before their camp session begins.
