Parish Service Project: Welcome Backpacks for Refugees
September 3, 2023 10:00am
This Labor Day weekend St. Bart's is partnering with Church World Service to provide Welcome Backpacks to immigrants and refugees crossing the border. You are invited us to join us in welcoming newly arriving neighbors with a backpack of toiletries and other essential items. (Learn more about Welcome Backpacks).
Join us for a special church-wide packing party from 10:00 – 10:50 am in the Great Hall and help us fill backpacks containing food, hygiene products, and other personal necessities. These backpacks will be blessed at the 11 am worship service on St. Bart's Day (September 10) and distributed thereafter.
"Whoever welcomes you welcomes me." — Jesus
Because we need to control specific quantities of each item and do not have storage space for excess goods, we are not accepting physical donations at this time.
By selecting an item for your gift, you are making a donation to St. Bart's in support of our mission and ministry, including service events and partnerships. Contributions defray costs and further support the mission and ministry of St. Bartholomew's Church.

Our program year theme is "A Place at the Table," and our very own Associate Director of Communications Ben Castellanos has designed some St. Bart's merch to highlight our Refugee Welcome Backpack Project.
