Volunteers and Support Needed
St. Bart’s Migrant Welcome Committee will host a pop-up immigration legal clinic to help asylum seekers apply for work authorization, a process made harder by a new, non-waivable $550 federal fee.
In partnership with the Diocese of New York, El Barrio Angels at St. Edward the Martyr, and the New York Legal Assistance Group, we are raising funds and gathering volunteers and interpreters to make this clinic possible.
How you can help
- Volunteer for a four-hour shift assisting applicants under legal supervision.
- Serve as an interpreter in any language.
- Donate toward an employment authorization fee at this link (choose “St. Bart’s NYC Pop-Up Immigration Legal Clinic” under “designate funds toward a project” on the second page).
