Easter Sunday

by The Right Reverend Dean E. Wolfe on April 02, 2021

Dear Friends,

It is my joy and privilege to warmly welcome you to St. Bart’s Church! These are the high holy days of the Christian faith and we are honored you have joined us. Holy Week is filled with liturgical drama, symbolic meaning and the remembrance of Christ’s teaching, suffering, death and his glorious resurrection. The fundamental teachings of Christianity are to be found along this journey, and we rejoice in the God who overcomes death and the grave. Easter is the celebration of the ultimate triumph of God’s love.

We are looking forward to the time when we will all be able to safely gather back in our magnificent worship space in Midtown Manhattan. Until then, we continue to offer livestream worship along with a host of other opportunities for education and service. We will let you know just as soon as we are able to return to in-person worship.

We want you to feel at home here at St. Bart’s! We know we’re not like a lot of other Christian churches. We don’t emphasize guilt. We welcome everyone from everywhere. We stand up for justice and equality, and we speak out on behalf of those who have no voice. We’re working hard to make the world just a little bit better and we try to live our lives following the example of Jesus. When we fail and fall, which we often do, we help one another get back up and then we continue on the journey. We’ve discovered the trip is so much easier when you travel with friends.

I hope you’ll explore our newly redesigned website and find meaningful opportunities to learn, to pray, to volunteer; to transform and to be transformed. We’re only given one life on this planet. May we use that life to witness to God’s great love… and God’s incomparable hope

Faithfully,

The Right Reverend Dean E. Wolfe, D.D.
Rector
